Languages
French is spoken in France, Canada, Mauritius, Algeria, Congo, Switzerland, Ivory Coast, and several other countries.
Italian is spoken (in addition to French and German) in Switzerland, as well (of course) as Italy itself. It did not spread outside of Europe as English, French, Spanish and Portuguese have, due to Italy not having an empire since the fall of the Roman Empire.
Portuguese is spoken in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tome & Principe, Cape Verde, and there are also remnants of Portuguese speaking populations in Goa (India) and Macao (China), both previously Portuguese colonies.
Spanish, as well as being spoken in Spain, is also the official languages in several countries including most of South and Central America, and some African countries.
